African American Women During the Civil War
Imagine being up close and personal with Susie King Taylor who nursed with Clara Barton; or Elizabeth Keckley, dressmaker and confidant to Mary Todd Lincoln; or Charlotte Forten, college graduate and first African American to teach freed men in the South; or Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, and other women of color who relate to the human story of the social issues and ills that impacted and changed the course of our nation. Hear their stories from Dr. Annette E. Jefferson.
